Student mobility: Sri Lanka to Norway
MSc mobility The main flow of students takes place in the Norwegian Autumn semester (August-December) when six-seven Sri Lankan MSc students travel to the University of Tromsø. These are students that were selected among the participants of the thematic workshop held earlier (January-February) in Sri Lanka. These students originate from different Sri Lankan instutions and must be registered as postgraduate students at UoR or UoJ. During this semester they will also register at UiT (fee exempt). Prior to their travel to Norway, MSc students will initiate their research in Sri Lanka under the supervision of a local researcher in close cooperation with a researcher in Norway. The expected work load during this semester in Norway is the standard 30 credits (ECTS). This work load includes participation in specific courses at BFE and UiT, as well as the elaboration of a scientific manuscript under the orientation of the resident tutor. The individual MSc. fellowship covers travel, insurance and living costs in Norway in the Autumn semester. The travel is organized by the coordinator of the program in Sri Lanka. PhD mobility Starting in 2020, one PhD student will visit Norway for three months every year. This will be an active researcher who can benefit from additional contacts, supervision or access to different methodology. The research plan must be agreed beforehand between the local supervisor, the host researcher in Norway and the student. This PhD student will have to pass a selection procedure, which will be announced in due time. The individual PhD fellowship covers travel, insurance and living costs in Norway during a period of three months, preferably in the Autumn semester (August). To attend courses, this students must also register at UiT (fee exempt). |
